Guest Speaker: Julianne Dalcanton, Professor and Chair, Department of Astronomy, University of Washington
ASTRONOMY TALK | DETAILS COMING SOON, STAY TUNED!
About the Speaker: Julianne Dalcanton works on galaxy formation and evolution, focusing primarily on what can be learned in the nearby universe. Her group is currently working on several large projects studying the resolved stellar populations of nearby galaxies using HST, their neutral gas distribution with the VLA, and their stellar mass, dust, and star formation properties with Spitzer. She also works closely with the N-body shop on the interface between observation and numerical theory.
