Virtual Mayoral Candidate Forum - Day 3

Our typical Candidate Forums during Election Years were very popular face-to-face, interactive, informative “speed dating” experiences. Due to Covid, we must hold our forums virtually.

Candidates will have an opportunity to share brief introductory comments, and then address community questions (pre-submitted or captured from the live comment feed). With the current number of candidates for Mayor, we will hold these “interviews” and Q&A sessions over the course of several nights. All “filed” candidates have been invited and scheduled first-come.

Candidates confirmed to participate include the following in alpha order but they will not present in this order:

Mon., June 8: Neil Azevedo, Bob Fitzgerald, Wendell Kaʻehuʻaeʻa, Yumi Kawano, Mitch Roth and Mike Ruggles.

Tues., June 9: Paul Bryant, Kelly Greenwell, Stacy Higa, Harry Kim and Tante Urban.

Wed., June 10: Michael Glendon, Ikaika Marzo, and Ted Shaneyfelt

To submit a question relevant to the office of Hawai’i County Mayor, please email WaimeaCommunityAssociation@gmail.com before June 3. Questions may also be posted to the Facebook “live” chat but are difficult to capture during the live presentation, in part due to a slight technology delay.

To watch this forum, go to www.Facebook.com/WaimeaCommunityAssocation about 4:55 p.m. and watch for link that will be posted just at the start of the program. After the fact, a YouTube  link will be posted to FB and here on the association’s website to watch a replay.

This is what a usual “speed dating” Waimea Community Association candidate forum looks like, but due to Covid health/safety precautions, this year’s forums will be held virtually - “live” on Facebook. Please join us. It’s a very important election year!
