Doors open at 5 p.m., performance at 6. Featuring the halau’s 170-year hula and music legacy. Will honor Hawai’i’s Ke Ali’i Queen Emma and Queen Lili’uokalani with hula-chants in appreciation of their trusts and foundations to improve the health and social conditions of the people of Hawai’i. Students from kupuna to keiki will present kahiko (ancient hula) and auana (modern hula) celebrating the geographical beauty and stories of Hawai’i. Also will include a silent auction of koa items, ‘ukulele, art and cousin Louise Beamer’s collection of American artist Thomas Kinkade “painter of light” collectibles.
