Waimea’s Dec. 3, 2022 Twilight Christmas Parade will start at Waimea Park with units entering Lindsey Road from the park, proceeding to the main intersection and turning left on Mamalahoa Hwy (Hwy 19), and traveling thru town center.  They will turn right on Pukalani Road and then right on Ala Ohi’a Road, ending at the Kalani Schutte Waimea District Park. 

TRAFFIC ADVISORY – ROAD CLOSURE!

5:30-6:45 p.m.  Mamalahoa Highway (Hwy. 19) will be closed during the parade from the intersection of Lindsey Road and Mamalahoa Hwy, east through town center to Pukalani Road.  The parade will turn right on Pukalani Road traveling south (toward the Mauna Kea) to Ala Ohi’a Road where it will turn right onto Ala Ohi’a to the Kalani Schutte Waimea District Park.  These roadways will be closed during the parade – only emergency vehicles will be permitted to pass through town along the parade route. 

Plan ahead and expect delays.  Off-duty police will assist with traffic control and crowd safety. 

Throughout the parade, spectators are urged to keep a close watch on keiki and everyone must stay on the curb as emergency vehicles may need to pass. 

Also, for everyone’s safety, absolutely no candy throwing or open fires permitted including barbecues, hibachis or other open flames, and drivers are asked to be very careful if parking on dry grass to avoid starting a grass fire. 

Also, please respect the ‘aina – don’t park on landscaped areas through town including shopping centers.
